①事物。松栄の異形。新潟県佐渡市の相川では佐渡奉行の鈴木重嶺に仕えていた佐藤氏が江戸時代末期に賜ったと伝える。佐藤サトウ参照。

②大分県大分市牧の松榮山から発祥。山名、伝承での姓の発音はショウエイ。同地に1677年（延宝5年）に真言宗の功徳院を創建して後に大分県大分市荷揚町が藩庁の府内藩主の松平氏から賜ったと伝える。
