③宮城県登米市東和町米谷発祥。江戸時代に記録のある地名。地名、姓はマイヤ。宮城県大崎市古川沢田に戦国時代にあった。

④奈良県奈良市米谷町発祥。鎌倉時代に記録のある地名。地名、姓はマイタニ。同地に室町時代、香川県観音寺市、香川県高松市玉藻町が藩庁の讃岐高松藩士に江戸時代にあった。同藩士はマイタニ。
