①地形。保つ沢から。大阪府では大阪府大阪市住吉区沢之町（旧：沢之口）の沢を保って大阪府大阪市住吉区住吉の住吉大社から賜ったと伝える。時代不詳。沢之口は戦国時代に「沢の口」の表記で記録のある地名。大阪府大阪市住吉区墨江に分布あり。栃木県下野市川中子では栃木県下都賀郡壬生町本丸が藩庁の壬生藩主から江戸時代に賜ったと伝える。
②地形。鹿児島県の奄美群島の一字姓である保に「沢」を追加。推定では1953年の日本復帰時。鹿児島県大島郡瀬戸内町阿木名に分布あり。同地に保姓あり。保参照。
