① Ainu system . Hokkaidou Muroran-shi Originated from Murakami- cho (former: former Muroran). In the Edo period the name of the place with a record as "Morolan" notation. The place name was called "Muroran village" from 1869 to 1890. Mino Ruelan of the Ainu language means "small down road".
