① Originated from Koiwa with east, west, north and south of Toukyou-to Edogawa-ku . A place name with a record since the Warring States Period.

② Kagoshima-ken Kimotsuki-gun Minamioosumi-chou Originated from small rocks in the northernmost of the root river. There was a Koiwa gate in the same area in the Edo period as a system of division.
