Originated from Tochigi-ken Ootawara-shi . A place name with a record since the Warring States Period. Mr. Ohira lived in 1543 (Astronomical 12 years) or 1545 (Astronomical 14 years) and tells that he made the place name Otawara.

② Okayama-ken Wake-gun Wake-chou Origin of Otawara (Otahara). A place name with a record since the Azuchi-Momoyama period. The name of the place is believed to have lived in the late Heian period by Mr. Ohtawara.
