Nagasaki-ken Saikai-shi , Nagasaki-ken Sasebo-shi . Originated from Yamagata-ken · Akita-ken (formerly Dewa). A place name with a record since the Nara period. Nagasaki-ken Oomura-shi Kushima tells that Omura Samurai of the Clan Office called in the meaning of "enemy country fell off Dewa" which was an enemy country in the Boshin War between 1868 and 1869.
