① Ooita-ken Saiki-shi Originated from Katata (Katata). A place name with a record since the Kamakura period. Go to Kouchi-ken during the Kamakura period. It was in the Edo period in Nagasaki-ken Shimabara-shi . In the same place, it was written as "Katakana".
② Originated from Katata of Shiga-ken Ootsu-shi (Katata). A place name with a record since the Heian period. In Hyougo - ken Awaji - shi Iwa - ya, say that the town was named after the Omi Hakkei and Meiji Shin surname.
